Andrea Fossati has been awarded the Jonas Söderquist Scholarship 2025 by Karolinska Institutet, recognizing promising researchers in the field of virology.

The scholarship supports continued work on bacteriophage biology and host–pathogen interactions, with a focus on understanding how phages reprogram bacterial systems and how this knowledge can be translated into new antimicrobial strategies.

The Jonas Söderquist Scholarship is awarded annually to early-career researchers at KI whose work combines scientific depth with clear potential for future impact.
